How the Interactive team at Atlassian uses Quick Filters

The Interactive team at Atlassian manages the Atlassian website, Atlassian University, videos and various design tasks. Let’s take a quick look at how our team uses Quick Filters to further filter cards in the work and plan mode of the GreenHopper boards.

By default, boards contains two Quick Filters, called ‘Only My Issues‘ and ‘Recently Updated‘.  Look at all the extra filters on Atlassian’s Interactive Marketing board:

Quick Filters on the Interactive Rapid Board

The 20 quick filters help us see the following:

  • All tickets created or updated in the past 7 days
  • All the bugs
  • All tickets in a certain issue type (such as Video, Design etc)
  • Tickets per teammate (Coream, Dave, Jeff, etc)
  • Unassigned tickets

Editing the Quick Filters

To edit the quick filters, click the tools dropdown, then choose Configure:

Once you are on the Configuration page, go to the Quick Filters Tab.  Quick Filters are written with JQL.

Now that you know how we use Quick Filters, please comment below and tell us how your team uses them.

Note: Only the owner of a board (or a person with the ‘Jira Administrators’ global permission) can configure a board’s Quick Filters.
