At Atlassian, we’re creating new innovative ways to make our bug and issue tracker and content collaboration wiki as classic of a combo as spaghetti and meatballs. With the latest release of Confluence, a new feature helps bolster that notion.

Autoconvert takes the links you paste into the editor – Confluence pages, Jira issues, YouTube videos, Skitch images, Flickr photo streams, Vimeo videos, and Google maps – and transforms them into the rich content you linked to. It’s the fastest way to create rich content online because it does all of the work for you. Some might even say it’s magic.

As easy as copy and paste

For Jira users, Autoconvert, makes producing reports of issues, backlogs, and tasks as easy as copy and paste. Provided that you’ve connected Jira and Confluence using Application Links you can paste individual Jira issue or Jira query URLs into the editor to have them immediately transformed into the Jira Issue macro.

As someone that constantly works in both Jira and Confluence throughout the day, this feature is incredibly helpful. Bringing my issues into Confluence really is as simple as copy and paste.
